A "wee bit" about
Connie Blackwood-MacLeod...

Connie Blackwood-MacLeod is a Positive Adult Contemporary/Christian artist who delivers thought provoking lyrics and melodies that refresh and resonate within you long after she’s left the stage.

Connie has played to audiences in the Orlando, FL area for the past several years…gaining a following at clubs like House of Blues, 310 Park South, Borders and White Wolf Café. Also a well-traveled soul, Connie has been a featured performer in 10 States, across the Atlantic in Bavaria and Scotland, on Radio in Germany and Buenos Aires, with subsequent sales of hundreds of units of original material worldwide, all now downloadable through CDBaby.com!

John Blanche, a two time Grammy winner co-produced her best work to date, "I Wish You Well" at his Longwood studio. This project includes the award winning “Ocean Bird” video (produced by Arte Tedesco, Monkey Fist Productions & Videography by Jon Rohrer, WEBTV).

After capturing the attention of Heavy Hitters Publishing, Connie's song "Every Time It Rains" was featured on the daytime soap, "One Life To Live." The song was penned in Ft. William, Scotland as a love song to a place that captured her imagination and heart since she was a young girl. This calling led her to write the movie script "Son of the Sword," with Linda Borden. The film is based on the novel by J. Ardian Lee and will feature more originals. Connie was also asked to write a very special song for a television production called "My Precious Child." Airdate is pending.

Also an Actors Equity Association Member, this accomplished actress has appeared in theater and on the big screen. Credits include "Wiccians Lair & Head Trip" (featuring songs on the soundtracks) and "From The Earth To The Moon" on HBO (directed by Sally Field). More principal film roles would be nice, but Connie’s first passion truly is music.

Following the 2002 release of "I Wish You Well," Connie’s career took a devastating blow. Surgery, unrelated to her voice, damaged the muscles around her throat so badly; she had to give up singing completely, actually going two entire months without speaking. In the years to follow, she depended simply on her faith and a very long struggle back to the world of music…she is in fact, a new creation. Connie returns to the stage with renewed confidence, not in her strength, but in the strength of the Lord…the one who gifted her to begin with.

Such a journey creates an environment to produce music that will touch your heart and reach deeply into your soul. Connie’s most recent offerings "I Believe," Our God Is Mighty" & "True North" are just some of the uplifting messages you’ll encounter as she does what she was born to do…share the gift of music and encouragement!
